Casa Esperanza is seeking a Recovery Coach to support individuals in recovery from addiction and mental illness. You will facilitate access to treatment, provide non-clinical support, and help clients build sober networks within a holistic, team-based care model.

The role emphasizes community-based, in-person work with some occasional telework, travel for client transport, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to maximize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years demonstrated personal recovery experience.
• Massachusetts driver’s license with a safe driving record.
• Experience with homelessness, mental illness.
• Experience with Zoom or other virtual platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Knowledge of community/recovery resources.
• Ability to work both as a team member and independently.
• Understanding of relapse prevention and harm reduction techniques.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and technical skills.
• Proficiency with computer programs and web-based database systems.
• Able to meet physical and training requirements.

Responsabilités

• Connect with individuals early in intake to introduce services and promote recovery.
• Develop an Individual Recovery Action Plan with clients.
• Help clients navigate recovery supports and access housing, employment, health and other services.
• Facilitate peer-supported groups and document notes in the electronic health record.
• Document encounters and maintain client records in the EHR.
• Train four peer leaders to deliver peer-led groups and organize activities.
• Assist clients with applying for health insurance.
• Provide transportation assistance to and from aftercare and services.
• Engage clients to foster connection to recovery communities and pro-social groups.
• Share personal recovery experiences where applicable and model coping strategies.
• Help clients modify attitudes and behaviors to promote recovery and self-sufficiency.
• Provide ongoing education on substance use, health, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, tobacco, nutrition and exercise.
