Qualifications

  • Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homeless services; commitment to helping others regain recovery.
  • NYCPS certification preferred.
  • HS diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches skills for daily living (hygiene, laundry, cleaning).
  • Monitors apartment maintenance and reports issues to supervisor.
  • Teaches budgeting, shopping, meal planning, and budgeting for residents.
  • Teaches self-preservation, safety, and cleanliness in living units.
  • Administers client cooking safety tests.
  • Monitors medication self-administration per policy.
  • Reports incidents or behavioral changes to supervisor.
  • Teaches travel skills and escorts clients as needed.
  • Facilitates groups as requested and documents progress.
  • Assists in building self-advocacy with supports and treatment team.
  • Supports recovery goal achievement to reduce emergency service use.
