Job summary

ACMH INC in New York, NY is seeking a Peer Program Specialist (Manhattan Supportive Apartment) to provide direct in-home services and skill-building support for clients. You will train clients in daily living skills and monitor apartment safety under supervision.

The role requires lived experience with behavioral health or related services; NYCPS certification is preferred. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with generous benefits on offer.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homelessness services is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct service to clients in their homes, assisting with training in skills of daily living.
• Teaches skills for personal hygiene, budgeting, shopping, meal planning and cleanliness.
• Monitors apartment maintenance and safety; reports issues to supervisor.
• Documents services rendered and client progress in a timely manner.
• Teaches travel skills and escorts clients when needed.
• Facilitates/co-facilitates groups as requested.
