Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Peds Transplant & Cellular Therapy unit (DCT 4A). This 17-bed unit cares for pediatric transplant, cell therapy, oncology and related conditions, with a family-centered care approach.

The nurse will independently plan and document care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support a 1:1 to 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio. Three 12-hour night shifts are typical.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN program.
• Current North Carolina RN licensure.
• BLS certification.
• Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience.
• Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team and provide education to patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care.
• Use nursing judgment to tailor care plans to each patient.
• Provide nursing services to patients and families per nursing scope of practice.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other care providers.
• Serve as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or entire unit.
• Monitor the environment of care and manage equipment and resources.
