Job summary

Duke University in Durham, NC seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide and coordinate bedside care on the Peds Transplant & Cellular Therapy unit (DCT 4A). You will apply the nursing process, document care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity pediatric setting.

This full-time night shift role (three 12-hour shifts, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., 36 hours/week) offers relocation and a commitment bonus, plus a comprehensive rewards program.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN program.
• Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience required.
• Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care using the nursing process in accordance with physician orders and policies.
• Use professional nursing judgment to tailor care plans based on patient needs and responses.
• Provide nursing services to patients and families in line with NC Board of Nursing scope.
• Delegate tasks and supervise activities of other licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Assist nursing personnel and act as team leader or charge nurse as assigned.
• Monitor environment of care and initiate corrective actions with equipment and resources.
• Maintain competencies, participate in professional development, and support staff growth.
• Participate in clinical and operational performance improvement activities.
