Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Part-Time RN to provide nursing care and guidance for clinical issues onsite at the Akron location. The role supports the provider staff and fosters a team approach to high-quality pediatric care.

The successful candidate will precept staff, mentor others, perform patient assessments, and contribute to discharge planning and staff education. A BSN and an Ohio RN license are required with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• BSN required; degree must be obtained within 5 years if not held.
• Active Ohio RN license (MSL) required; multi-state license within 90 days for telenursing/Care outside Ohio.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Support provider staff and promote efficient operation and quality care for pediatric patients with a team approach.
• Precept and mentor new employees and act as a clinical staff mentor.
• Provide patient assessments as required.
• Participate in staff education for clinically related issues.
• Assist with and facilitate discharge planning as directed.
• Advocate for children's health and maintain a positive public image in interactions with families and vendors.
• Demonstrate knowledge to care for physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Provide consultations and request consults as needed; other duties as required.
