Job summary

The position is part-time (0.8 FTE) with day and evening hours. BSN and Ohio RN licensure are required, plus BLS certification; EPIC EMR experience is preferred. Expect leadership, teamwork, and a strong commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Licensed RN in Ohio required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across age groups.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties.
• Deliver patient-centered care.
• Contribute to quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Educate and mentor staff as needed, possibly precepting new employees.
• Engage in evidence-based practice duties.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure quality care and excellent service.
• Engage in systems-based practice and informatics tasks.
• Staff may be reassigned within Akron Children’s Hospital as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
