Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Part-Time Staff Nurse to join our pediatric team. The role supports family-centered care, requires RN licensure in Ohio, a BSN or progress toward it, and BLS certification. Involves leadership duties and collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities include direct nursing care, education for staff, and participation in quality and safety initiatives. Onsite work with potential cross-unit assignments within the Akron Children's Hospital system.

Qualifications

BSN degree required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Licensed RN in Ohio is required.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with a family-centered approach.
Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
Demonstrate leadership and professional duties as assigned.
Deliver patient-centered care to diverse pediatric patients.
Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
Educate and mentor staff; may precept new employees.
Engage in evidence-based practice.
Support providers and promote collaboration for efficient, high-quality care.
Engage in systems-based practice and informatics tasks.
Staff may be reassigned within Akron Children's Hospital as needed.
Perform other duties as required.
