Job summary

PM Pediatric Care is hiring a Medical Assistant to support providers and staff in a pediatric urgent care setting. You will greet patients, obtain histories, take vitals, and prep patients for X-rays while assisting with routine labs and wound care.

The role emphasizes professional demeanor, strong communication, multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, and familiarity with medical software. Prior pediatric experience is favored.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior Medical Assistant experience or education.
• Knowledge of EKG placement and processing in children.
• Ability to obtain lab samples via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional, friendly demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Experience with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Prior pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations.
• Greet and register patients as they arrive.
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake.
• Prepare patients for X-rays.
• Perform and document routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures; venipuncture experience preferred.
• Irrigate and assist with wounds.
• Assist in quality control testing in the lab.
• Support patient care within scope of practice under physician supervision.
• Maintain exam rooms and front reception with adequate supplies.
• Keep waiting area orderly and clean.
• Follow safety practices and precautions.
• Assist in emergencies and notify medical team as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Contribute to service recovery when needed.
• Perform other duties including applying splints and assisting with procedures.
