Job summary

PM Pediatric Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a pediatric urgent care setting. You will greet and register patients, take medical history and vital signs, and prepare patients for X-rays under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include lab work (nasal swabs/venipuncture), wound care assistance, and lab QC. Strong communication and pediatric experience are preferred, with multitasking in a fast-paced environment expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior Medical Assistant experience or education.
• Knowledge of pediatric EKG placement.
• Ability to collect labs via nasal swab and venipuncture.
• Professional, friendly demeanor.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Pediatric experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiar with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients, and office operations
• Greet and register patients as they arrive
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs, and intake
• Prepare patients for X-rays
• Perform and document routine labs (venipuncture preferred)
• Irrigate and assist with wounds
• Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab
• Be part of the patient care team and assist within scope
• Keep exam rooms and front desk stocked
• Maintain waiting room cleanliness
• Practice standard safety practices and precautions
• Assist with emergencies and notify medical team
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Support service recovery when needed
• Assist with applying splints and other procedures
• Provide exceptional customer services
