Job summary

Duke University Health System is seeking a clinical and operational leader for the Pediatric Medical/Surgical Unit in Durham, NC. The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating cross-disciplinary teams to support family-centered outcomes.

The position requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, NC RN licensure, and at least three years of nursing experience; a Master’s in Nursing is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
• Master's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred.
• Three years of nursing experience is required.
• Current North Carolina RN licensure and BCLS certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the clinical and operational leader for the Pediatric Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Manage and supervise functions of the assigned patient care area on a 24-hour basis.
• Participate in clinical area strategic and operational planning.
• Interface with patients and families, and mentor staff.
• Oversee quality improvement, patient safety, and operational efficiency.
• Oversee staffing, budgets, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
