Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred, but not required.
• BLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons with surgical procedures and provide intra-operative support.
• Set up and scrub all surgical procedures; maintain aseptic technique.
• Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Act as preceptor/mentor to scrub roles for new staff and nurses.
• Communicate effectively with surgical team and maintain patient safety.
• Work within a level I pediatric trauma center team environment.
