Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the pediatric operating room. The role supports surgeons during intraoperative procedures and maintains sterile technique, preparing age-appropriate instruments for each case.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient and family needs, participate in quality initiatives, and serve as a patient advocate while upholding the hospital's values.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology is required.
• Must be a graduate from an Accredited Surgical Technical school.
• CST: Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
• CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon in the pediatric intraoperative phase.
• Maintain sterile technique and prepare age-appropriate instrumentation.
• Pass instrumentation and utilize physicians' preference cards.
• Collaborate with the health care team to meet patient and family needs.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Provide customer service to patients, families, and staff.
• Serve as a role model, educator, and patient advocate.
