Job summary

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a surgical technologist credential, with BLS certification within 30 days. Prior pediatric OR experience is preferred, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a recognized surgical technologist program or 5 years of equivalent experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
• One year of experience as a surgical technician (preferred).
• Experience in a pediatric operating room (preferred).
• Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ongoing healthcare delivery to patients and families with age-specific requirements.
• Provide technical skills assisting surgeon or staff and operate surgical equipment safely.
• Maintain knowledge of current equipment and supplies.
• Use effective communication with patients and families during care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver care.
• Support Joint Commission readiness and compliance with policies.
