Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the surgeon in the pediatric intraoperative phase, using AORN and OSA standards. The role collaborates with the healthcare team to meet patient and family needs in a cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile technique, preparing age-appropriate instrumentation, passing instruments, and acting as a patient advocate. The position may require working at both the Main Campus and South Campus, with call as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an Accredited Surgical Technology program.
• CPR certification preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon in pediatric intraoperative phase following AORN and OSA standards.
• Maintain sterile technique and prepare age-appropriate instrumentation and supplies.
• Pass instrumentation and coordinate with the surgical team.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and act as patient advocate.

Education

Associate's degree in Surgical Technology

High School Diploma/GED plus Certification of Completion in Surgical Technology

Graduate from an Accredited Surgical Technology school
