Job summary

Children's Mercy in Kansas City seeks a Surgical Technician II to join the patient care team under the direction of the physician and/or registered nurse. This role scrubs for operative procedures, prepares and troubleshoots equipment, and assists the team to deliver optimal patient care.

Qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology (or HS diploma with related experience), 1–2 years of surgical technologist experience, and BLS required; PALS and CST are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology (or HS diploma with related experience) and 1–2 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency as a Surgical Technologist.
• Supports surgical team before, during, and after procedures with equipment, instruments and supplies.
• Maintains safe, efficient, and professional patient care and teamwork.
