Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Technologist in the Main Operating Room. The role supports pediatric surgeries, passing sterile instruments and maintaining a sterile field under RN supervision.

Training is provided to achieve full proficiency across infant and pediatric procedures. Qualifications include a high school diploma (GED accepted) and a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program, with preferred prior surgical tech experience and current BLS/CPR

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon by passing sterile instruments during procedures.
• Scrub and maintain sterility before, during and after surgery under RN supervision.
• Prepare and arrange instruments and supplies in the OR as instructed.
• Assist with positioning patients and draping as required.
• Maintain instrument counts and sterile technique throughout cases.
