Qualifikationen

• Satisfactory completion of a vocational or military course in surgical technology, or certification as Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA/NCCT).
• Two years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Desirable: experience scrubbing pediatric emergency cases including craniotomy, ortho trauma and general surgery.

Aufgaben

• Prepares surgical area for patient care and anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
• Serves as primary preceptor for Surgical Technology students, Summer 10 Nursing Interns or new staff.
• Maintains sterile technique and assists with instruments, implants, and supplies.
• Collaborates with surgeons and nursing staff to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.
• Organizes instrument trays and reviews equipment for each case.
