Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital seeks a part-time Staff Nurse (0.6 FTE) to deliver family-centered pediatric nursing care in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires a BSN, Ohio RN license, and current BLS certification, with at least 1 year of experience preferred. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Onsite Sedation Services, Mon-Fri 7:00am–3:30pm, with weekend/holiday call 2–3x per quarter and occasional travel to Boardman Sedation Services.

Qualifications

• BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Licensed as an RN in Ohio is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
• BSN/education may be required per department

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and directs nursing care with a family centered approach.
• Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients within scope.
• Demonstrates leadership and professional duties.
• Performs patient-centered care duties.
• Engages in quality improvement and safety tasks.
• Precepts and mentors clinical staff as needed.
• Performs evidence-based practice duties.
• Support providers and promote collaboration for efficient operation and quality care.
• Engage in systems-based practice and informatics duties.
• Staff may be reassigned within Akron Children's Hospital as needed.
• Other duties as required.
