Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Staff Nurse (0.6 FTE) to join Sedation Services. The role is onsite, primarily 7:00am–3:30pm, with 2–3 weekend/holiday calls per quarter and occasional travel to Boardman Sedation Services.

The nurse will provide family-centered nursing care, lead and mentor staff, and contribute to safety, education, and quality improvement efforts within the pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Licensed RN in Ohio is required.
• 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Perform leadership and professional duties.
• Perform patient-centered care duties.
• Engage in quality improvement and safety activities.
• May precept and mentor new staff; contribute to staff education.
• Support provider staff and promote collaboration for quality care.
• Utilize informatics and technology in care delivery.
• Staff may be assigned to areas across Akron Children's Hospital as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
