Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is hiring a Staff Nurse for full-time night shifts (onsite: 7pm–7:30am, 36 hours/week). The role emphasizes specialized nursing knowledge, judgment, and patient-family centered care across the pediatric population.

The nurse will lead, plan, and evaluate care, support education and mentoring of staff, participate in safety and quality initiatives, and collaborate with providers to ensure legendary pediatric patient service.

Qualifications

• BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current Ohio RN license and BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and patient-family centered care skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Perform leadership, professional duties, and patient-centered care tasks.
• Contribute to quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• Mentor and/or precept new staff and support clinical staff development.
• Promote collaboration and excellent customer service for pediatric patients.
