Job summary

KingRecruitingServices is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist for a contract role in Reston, VA. The position involves performing venipuncture, labeling, centrifuging specimens, and ensuring accurate data entry and specimen handling in a fast-paced lab environment.

Schedule: Mon-F 8am-4:30pm with every other Saturday 8am-12pm; duration is 3 months with potential for permanent hire; pediatric experience is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Update patient information and explain the venipuncture process to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label/centrifuge/freeze as required.
• Package specimens for transport and store per protocol.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend trainings.
• Answer calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
