Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Phlebotomist for a Reston, VA site. This contract role runs for approximately 3 months with potential for permanent placement. Pediatric experience is required, and the candidate will perform routine phlebotomy duties and related specimen processing.

Schedule is Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm with additional Saturday hours every other week. Benefits are available. Prior phlebotomy certification and basic MS Office skills are needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required in the state.
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and specimen collection with accuracy and courtesy.
• Label, centrifuge, and handle specimens per protocol; maintain accurate maintenance data.
• Explain venipuncture procedures clearly to patients and prepare specimens for testing.
• Ensure proper packaging and temperature control for specimen transport and storage.
• Adhere to OSHA and applicable regulations; participate in trainings and submit results.
