Ridgemont Resources, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract assignment with a 3-month duration and potential for permanent placement. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am to 5pm, in a fast-paced lab environment.

Ideal candidates have pediatric exposure, a valid phlebotomy certification as required by the state, and experience performing venipunctures, labeling and handling specimens, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and strict OSHA safety practices.

Competenze

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• minimum 2 years of experience

Mansioni

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection; demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperature and ensure transport compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and relay lab results as needed.
