Job summary

RRC Solutions Group is seeking a Phlebotomist in Austin, TX for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is M-F, 8am–5pm. Requires pediatric phlebotomy experience and state certification; minimum two years in fast-paced lab/hospital settings. Benefits are available.

The role involves performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining records and ensuring specimen integrity per protocol. Training and workflow improvements may be part of duties.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Ensure test requisitions match script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Store specimens at required temperature and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
