Job summary

Henderson Group Recruiting is seeking a Phlebotomist for a Austin, TX assignment. Schedule is M-F, 8am-5pm, contract with 3 months duration and potential for permanent placement. Requires pediatric venipuncture experience, 6+ months in a high-volume lab, and valid phlebotomy certification. Benefits available.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, and maintaining specimen integrity. Must explain procedures clearly and comply with OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure correct labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity per protocol.
