Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a pediatric perioperative registered nurse to provide direct professional nursing care for patients across the perioperative episode. The role includes patient/family education, adherence to CCMC policies, and collaboration with the care team.

Education/experience: ASN/ADN with BSN within 3 years, minimum 2 years perioperative experience. Must hold CT RN license or NLC, CPR/BLS on hire, and PALS within 6 months. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• ASN/ADN required; BSN must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
• Minimum 2 years perioperative experience.
• Must have or obtain license to practice nursing in CT (RN or compact).
• CPR/BLS certification required on hire and maintained.
• PALS certification required within 6 months of hire (travelers not on call exempt).
• OR nursing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical practice using the nursing process to provide patient care per unit policies.
• Care for neonates through adolescents with population-specific needs.
• Demonstrate unit leadership and delegate tasks per scope of practice.
• Complete timely documentation and communicate with health-care team.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and outcomes.
