Job summary

Connecticut Children’s in Hartford, CT seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct professional nursing care across the patient’s episode of service delivery. Reports to the Nurse Manager and works within CCMC policies and standards to deliver safe, family-centered care.

Requirements include ASN with BSN preferred within 3 years, 2+ years of Medical/Surgical experience (pediatric preferred), BLS/CPR, ACLS within six months, and PALS within 6 months.

Qualifications

• ASN required upon hire; BSN preferred and must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience on a Medical/Surgical unit; PACU and/or pediatric experience preferred.
• Endoscopy Nurse requires knowledge of surgical specialties relative to procedures and equipment.
• Current State of Connecticut RN licensure and BLS/CPR; ACLS within six months of hire.
• Pediatric Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct professional nursing care for specified patients throughout the episode of service delivery.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise using the nursing process to deliver safe patient care.
• Delegate duties to clinical staff per hospital policy and participate in unit leadership.
• Complete documentation timely and communicate information to the health care team.
• Educate patients and families regarding care and monitor outcomes.
• Support CCMC mission and standards in daily practice.
