Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a professional pediatric nurse to provide direct, patient-centered care across the episode of service. You will work under general supervision, reporting to the Nurse Manager, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic pediatric setting.

Requires ASN with BSN preferred within 3 years, and at least 2 years of Medical/Surgical experience; pediatric experience is favored.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred and to be obtained within 3 years of hire.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience on Medical/Surgical unit; PACU and/or pediatric experience preferred.
• PALS required within 6 months of hire or before dept orientation if longer than 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Practice- uses nursing process to provide safe patient care per policies and standards.
• Population Specific- understands needs of neonates through adolescence and applies to practice.
• Unit Leadership- delegates duties and mentors staff, supports productivity and resource management.
• Documentation/Communication- completes required documentation timely and communicates with health care team.
• Patient/Family Partnership & Education- partners with child and family to evaluate outcomes and educate about care.
• CCMC Standards- supports mission, values, and goals consistent with CCMC Standards.
