Job summary

Shriners Children's – Spokane is seeking an Operating Room/PACU RN to join the Perioperative team. The RN provides care in the OR and Phase I PACU, supporting the surgeon and anesthesiologist as needed during intraoperative processes.

Responsibilities include assessments, IV starts, airway management, aseptic technique, and coordination of care to ensure patient safety throughout the perioperative period. Excellent communication and teaching skills are valued.

Qualifications

• RN license in WA.
• BLS required with 3 months of hire.
• PALS required with 3 months of hire.
• BSN preferred or in process to receive BSN within five years from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to pediatric patients in perioperative areas including OR and Phase I PACU.
• Performs nursing services using the nursing process and ANA standards of practice.
• Supports family-centered care philosophy of Shriner’s Children's.
• Conducts assessments, interventions, IV starts, airway management, aseptic technique, equipment handling and troubleshooting.
• Develops and implements individualized care plans with patient, family, and healthcare team.
