Requires WA RN license, BLS, and PALS with 3 months of hire; BSN preferred or in-process BSN agreement within five years. This on-site role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends or nights.

This position provides care in both the OR and PACU Phase I of a patients’ surgical experience. The RN will function within the team by providing professional nursing care to patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised during and/or immediately after surgical or other invasive procedures. Provides support to Surgeon and the Anesthesiologist as needed during the intraoperative process. Utilizes clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and the nursing process to provide care to patients in the operating room and/or PACU. Uses the principles and guidelines of the AORN to ensure asepsis and infection control. The RN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and teaching; and may participate on committees or projects.**\\*No Weekends, No Nights, Minimal call\\*****Key Responsibilities:*** Provides nursing care to our pediatric patients in all of the perioperative areas, including the Operating Room, and Phase I Recovery Room.* Performs professional nursing services for patients with a variety of needs utilizing the nursing process and within the scope, ethics and standards of practice of the American Nurses Association.* Supports the family centered care philosophy of Shriners Children's.* Performs assessments, interventions, circulating, IV starts, airway management, aseptic technique, technical equipment handling and troubleshooting, and various other high acuity skills designed to keep the patients safe before, during, and immediately after surgery.* Collects and analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis/issues.
