Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Tech to support the sterile processing and operating room team. You will assist in preparing patients and assembling instruments, while maintaining strict aseptic technique throughout procedures.

The role requires collaboration with the Registered Nurse circulator, accurate documentation, and active participation in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of patient and assembly of supplies and instruments.
• Maintain aseptic technique and monitor sterility of supplies.
• Assist RN circulator and manage room turnover.
• Document charges and ensure proper disposition of specimens.
• Participate in department policies, training, and performance improvement.
