Job summary

Advocate Health Care in King, North Carolina is seeking a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to provide primary care support in a pediatrics setting. You will prepare patients for exams, perform routine lab work and assist physicians with procedures while administering medications under orders.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities, plus proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state where the team member practices.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.

Responsibilities

Prepare and room the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
Assist the physician with procedures and surgeries as required.
Administer medications under physician orders, including immunizations and injections.
Initiate/maintain IV therapy within allowed scope and administer fluids.
Provide basic patient education on tasks, treatment and self-care.
Coordinate test requests, refills, new appointments and referrals.
Refer questions to RN/physicians and relay information to patients.
