Job summary

GCMG One Health Pediatrics in King, NC, seeks a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse to support pediatric patient care. The role includes preparing patients for exams, performing lab procedures, and assisting physicians with procedures.

The nurse will administer medications, monitor IV therapy within scope, and provide patient education and coordination of referrals. Applicants must have an LPN license and BLS certification, strong communication and organization skills, and experience with EMR

Qualifications

• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport with patients and staff.
• Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.
• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigating Windows, and using email with exposure to electronic medical records systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vitals and documenting health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures (e.g. strep test, wound culture) with aseptic technique and standard precautions.
• Assists the physician with procedures and surgeries (e.g. pelvic exams, scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy).
• Administers medications under orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, pain meds, vitamins, and topical agents; may initiate IV therapy as allowed.
• Provides basic patient education on tasks, self-care and follow-ups; coordinates referrals as needed.
