Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a patient-focused scheduling and registration specialist for the Medical Imaging department. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, schedule imaging appointments, verify demographics, and enter information into Epic.

The role requires at least a high school diploma and two years of call center or healthcare experience, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication with families.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma; some college preferred.
• Minimum of two years of call center or healthcare experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word/Outlook and basic computer skills.
• Demonstrates strong customer service, communication, and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls for imaging modalities (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, etc.) and schedule appointments.
• Facilitate scheduling of imaging procedures with internal and external providers.
• Register patients and verify demographics and insurance information.
• Transcribe external imaging orders into Epic and schedule as requested.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and support families with next steps for appointments.
• Meet department performance metrics and quality goals.
