Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System in Florida seeks an experienced RN to join the Pediatric Emergency and Level I Trauma team. You will assess and manage care for critically ill children in a fast-paced, team-based environment, upholding Magnet standards and patient rights while receiving ongoing education and supervision from Nurse Manager/Director.

The role requires Florida RN or eNLC license, BLS, PALS, CPI certifications, and readiness to provide 1:1 care, on-call coverage, and evidence-based

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN license or multi-state eNLC license.
• BLS certification must be active throughout employment.
• PALS certification within 2 years, active and in good standing.
• CPI certification within 1 year, active and in good standing.
• ACLS preferred within 1 year and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive multi-system assessments and develop a plan of care.
• Communicate progress with physician and care team with closed-loop updates.
• Start/monitor IVs, collect specimens, perform POC testing, administer meds.
• Provide 1:1 care for critical patients and transport for procedures.
• Complete bedside hand-offs at shift change and transfers.
• Prepare discharge plans and finalize electronic discharge documentation.
• Respond to codes/traumas per department policies and document actions.
• Ensure accurate triage documentation and vital signs per policy.
• Access EMR and document radiology, consents, and discharge data.
• Document critical lab results per hospital policy.
• Perform rounding for comfort, pain assessment, and follow-up care.
• Maintain an error-free environment with high-quality safe care.
• Demonstrate correct PPE usage and safety practices.
• Meet CEI/SEI standards; comply with regulatory requirements.
