Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with current Basic Life Support certification.
• Certification as a surgical technologist; registration with State Regulatory Agency where applicable.
• Must be able to scrub proficiently in at least two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures by pulling instruments and supplies and ensuring instrument functionality.
• Passes instruments, retracts tissue, and anticipates the surgeon's needs during operations.
• Maintains aseptic technique and proper disposal of sharps and waste throughout procedures.
• Coordinates with team to stock, replenish supplies and assist with OR turnover.
• Participates in training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students.
