Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ, part of Banner Health, seeks a CVOR Surgical Technologist for the Pediatric Surgery department. This full-time role supports high-volume pediatric and cardiovascular procedures in a busy, state-of-the-art setting with robotic and advanced systems.

The position requires a Surgical Technologist certification, a minimum of 1–2 years in a surgical tech role (or 3–4 years with no certification), and ability to scrub on two or more specialties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
• Certification as a surgical technologist with 1–2 years of experience, or 3–4 years in a surgical technologist role.
• Must scrub proficiently on a minimum of two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures. Pulls appropriate instruments and supplies and ensures good working order of instruments.
• Anticipates the surgeon's needs. Passes instruments and retracts tissue. Maintains competency to scrub in a minimum of two surgical specialties.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout procedures.
• Assists with OR turnover between cases and stocking of supplies; may provide training and orientation of staff and students.
