Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support Pediatric Surgery in a busy Cardio-vascular OR. This full-time role features day shifts, 4x10s, 6:40am-5:10pm, with on-call rotations for nights, weekends, and holidays.

You will scrub on at least two surgical specialties, prepare instruments, assist physicians, and participate in training and turnover.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.
• Certification as a surgical technologist with 1–2 years of experience or 3–4 years in the role.
• Proficient to scrub on a minimum of two surgical specialties; must be dexterous and maintain composure in stressful settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures; pulls instruments and supplies; ensures instrument readiness.
• Anticipates surgeon's needs and maintains competency to scrub in at least two specialties.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout procedures.
• Assists with OR turnover, stocking supplies, and cleaning operating rooms.
• Participates in training and orientation of staff and students; may provide administrative support.
