Job summary

Penn State Health has an opportunity for a Physician Assistant to work in our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in our Children’s Hospital. This position requires the ability to progress to a high level of autonomy and independence.

The Physician Assistant provides care to a variety of patients and collaborates with the care team. The role entails in-house, round-the-clock coverage, weekends and holidays, with diverse clinical responsibilities including neurosurgical, surgical, trauma,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or higher degree that meets licensure requirements.
• National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
• Work with attending physicians, fellows, residents, nurses and other team members to deliver specialty care.
• Manage all modes of mechanical ventilation, ECMO and CRRT as clinically indicated; participate in education and training of residents and staff.
