Job summary

The McCarton Foundation for Developmental Disabilities Inc is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support children with developmental disabilities. You will work with a multidisciplinary team across center-based, home, or tele-therapy settings, delivering direct care and documenting progress to help children build motor and developmental skills.

Qualifications

• License: NYS COTA Licensure required.
• Education: Associate’s degree in occupational therapy assistant.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years with children; pediatrics/early-childhood experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with children with developmental disabilities and/or autism.
• Experience collaborating with paraprofessionals and classroom aides is preferred.
• Knowledge of OT principles and pediatric practices; CPR/First Aid and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to children 0–3 under supervision of a licensed OT.
• Support individualized treatment programs for motor, sensory, and development skills.
• Document services in digital platforms (logs, progress reports, IFSP notes).
• Communicate treatment plans and progress to families.
• Collaborate with OT, Speech, ABA, PT to create integrated programming.
• Guide paraprofessionals and model best practices.
• Participate in family meetings, trainings, and clinical supervision.
• Maintain credentials with ongoing professional development.
