Job summary

Care for Kids is actively hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our pediatric urgent care sites in Texas. The role blends front desk responsibilities with clinical tasks, including triage, vaccines, and EMR documentation in eMDs.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with Texas license.
• BLS certification required (online renewal acceptable).
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA-Waived Testing and EMR software.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients upon arrival.
• Communicate with the provider when the patient is ready, summarizing symptoms and vitals.
• Document visits in the EMR system (eMDs).
• Assist the provider with procedures and patient care, including splinting, radiology, vaccines, and phlebotomy.
• Administer and document medications as directed by the provider.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and handle front office tasks (insurance verification, patient registration).
• Obtain lab samples and follow up with patients after results are available.
