Job summary

Care for Kids in Houston is seeking Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to support urgent care and pediatric primary care services. The role blends front desk responsibilities with hands-on clinical tasks, including triage, radiology support, phlebotomy, vaccines, and EMR documentation.

Ideal candidates will have pediatric experience, BLS, and Texas CMA or LVN licensure, with a patient-first approach and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LVN with Texas license and BLS.
• Pediatric experience in a clinic or urgent care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, EMR systems, and patient safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients on arrival and prepare for provider assessment.
• Summarize symptoms and vitals to the provider.
• Document visits in the EMR (eMDs) accurately.
• Assist with procedures including vaccines, phlebotomy, and radiology support.
• Administer medications as directed and manage room preparation.
• Obtain lab samples and follow up with results with patients.
• Provide patient education and address follow-up questions.
• Handle front desk tasks: insurance verification, registration, and payments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
