Job summary

Care for Kids in Texas seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our Hulen location to support pediatric urgent care and primary care services, including telemedicine. CMAs and LVNs are valued as versatile successors who handle both front desk tasks and clinical duties with empathy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children.
• Experience in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years, with a minimum duration of 6 months.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a Texas license.
• BLS certification required (online renewal accepted).
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, basic clinical procedures, CLIA-Waived Testing, and EMR software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients upon arrival.
• Communicate with the provider when the patient is ready, summarizing symptoms and any abnormal vitals.
• Document visits in the EMR system (eMDs).
• Assist the provider with procedures and patient care, including splinting, radiology, vaccines, medication administration, phlebotomy.
• Administer and document medications as directed by the provider.
• Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
• Obtain lab samples and follow up with patients after results.
• Provide patient education at visit end and address follow-up questions.
• Position patients for radiology procedures (training provided).
• Handle front office tasks like insurance verification, patient registration, phones, payments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
