Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct professional nursing care across the patient episode, under general supervision. The role requires adherence to CCMC policies, TJC standards, and state and federal regulations, reporting to the Nurse Manager.

The nurse will apply clinical expertise, partner with patients and families, and participate in unit leadership and education activities while maintaining patient safety and high-quality care standards.

Qualifications

• ASN required upon hire; BSN preferred and required within 3 years of hire.
• Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) and maintained thereafter.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR for adult, child & infant.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide direct professional nursing care for specified patients throughout the episode of service delivery.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise using the nursing process to ensure safe, appropriate patient care.
• Foster effective team dynamics and delegate duties per hospital policy to support unit needs.
