Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a nursing leader to coordinate day-to-day operations on a Med Surg unit and collaborate with patients, families, and the health care team. The role includes direct patient care as needed, staff supervision, and acting as a resource nurse during clinical shifts.

The position emphasizes leadership, quality improvement, and effective communication to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and optimal staffing alignment with unit needs.

Qualifications

• BSN required with Pediatric experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating nursing care on a clinical unit.
• Strong communication and collaboration with care teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day activities on the Med Surg unit in partnership with the Nurse Manager.
• Provide direct patient care when required and supervise staff during shifts.
• Lead quality improvement activities and staffing decisions for the unit.
• Mentor staff and facilitate monthly staff meetings with leadership.
