Job summary

Shriners Children's Boston is seeking an experienced pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient coverage within the Burn Program. The role involves independent practice, managing a caseload of 15-20 pediatric burn patients daily and performing wound care, scar management, and pre/post-operative evaluations.

The PRN position offers weekday coverage (Mon–Fri, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.), with no weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with independent practice capabilities.
• Experience in burn care, wound management, and multidisciplinary care.
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and histories.
• Develop care plans and differential diagnoses with the care team.
• Manage care for pediatric burn, orthopedic, craniofacial, and neuromuscular patients as applicable.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative evaluations and routine procedures as permitted.
• Prescribe medications and therapies within scope and policy.
• Document findings in the EHR and participate in quality improvement activities.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and home care.
