Job summary

Shriners Children’s Boston seeks a part-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Burn Program in a blended inpatient and outpatient role. Work with Burn and Plastic Surgery teams to care for infants through young adults with complex burns, wounds, and reconstructive needs.

The role spans acute inpatient care, perioperative management, and long-term follow-up with a flexible three 10-hour day schedule, Monday–Friday, with no nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• MSN or DNP from an accredited NP program.
• 1 year of advanced practice clinical experience preferred; exceptional new graduates with burn care experience considered.
• Experience in pediatric burn care, pediatric surgery, pediatric critical care, or related specialties is highly desirable.
• Board certification by ANCC/AANP or equivalent for Pediatric/Family NP.
• Current RN and APRN licenses in state of practice; DEA eligibility.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; PALS may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric burn care across the treatment spectrum.
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop differential diagnoses, and implement treatment plans.
• Manage inpatient unit including ICU-level care with PICU collaboration.
• Collaborate with Burn and Plastic Surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to ensure family-centered care.
• Conduct pre- and post-operative evaluations, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
• Independently manage outpatient clinics for 15+ patients daily (birth to age 21).
• Educate patients and families on wound care, recovery, and long-term care needs.
• Coordinate care across inpatient, outpatient, surgical, and rehab settings.
