Shriners Children's Boston is seeking a part-time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join our Burn Program, delivering inpatient and outpatient care for children with burns, wounds, and reconstructive needs alongside a multidisciplinary team.

The role covers exposure to acute inpatient and outpatient management, perioperative care, and long-term follow-up for patients from birth through age 21. Flexible scheduling with three 10-hour day shifts weekly.

Mansioni

• Provide inpatient and outpatient care to pediatric burn patients throughout recovery, reconstruction and rehabilitation.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop differential diagnoses, formulate treatment plans, and initiate interventions.
• Manage patients on the inpatient unit, including ICU-level care, in collaboration with PICU teams.
• Collaborate with Burn Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons, nursing staff, therapists, and other care professionals for family-centered care.
• Perform pre-operative evaluations, postoperative management, admission, discharge planning, and follow-up care.
• Independently manage outpatient clinic visits for 15+ pediatric patients daily.
• Assess and manage burns, wounds, scars, deformities, and related conditions.
• Educate patients and families on wound care, scar management, and recovery plans.
• Coordinate care across inpatient, outpatient, surgical, rehabilitation and community settings.
• Perform vascular access, phlebotomy, dressing applications, wound care and non-excisional debridement.
• Monitor healing, adjust care plans as needed, and document changes accurately.
• Develop individualized care plans with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure clear communication among patients, families and care team members.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to advance pediatric burn and reconstructive care.
