Job summary

Children’s National Hospital seeks an Ambulatory Patient Care Tech to work with a multidisciplinary team under RN supervision. You will perform basic nursing tasks, assist in patient flow, and maintain a safe, stocked clinic environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in acute care (pediatrics preferred), and certification such as CNA/EMT/CPCT with BLS. Expect collaboration with physicians, nurses, and the clinic staff in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in an acute health care setting, pediatrics preferred.
• CNA/EMT/CPCT certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data and document information for meaningful use including chief complaint, medications, allergies, and smoke history.
• Obtain vital signs (BP, pulse, respirations) and growth measurements, orient families to the clinic.
• Provide basic nursing care and assist with ambulation, discharge, and patient comfort.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and report repairs to the appropriate staff.
• Collect specimens per policy and assist with testing as assigned.
